We offer a few different types of sedatives to meet your needs. The first, and most common, is known as nitrous oxide. Commonly referred to as laughing gas, a small mask is placed over your nose. You’ll be instructed to breathe in the sweet-smelling fumes, which will almost immediately relax you. IV sedation is ideal for patients who want to be fully asleep during their appointment. A small needle is placed into the arm and attached to an intravenous line. During the appointment, a drip line will constantly administer sedative to keep you asleep until the needle is removed. You will be taken to a recovery room after the procedure is finished to wake up from whichever sedative you choose.
